Shower Update

May 23, 2017

We're making great progress and wanted to share an update on what we're working on.

First off, a big “thank you” to those who completed our pre-production survey! The numbers were positive, and made us feel confident moving forward into manufacturing our first batch of OaSense shower heads.

Progress has continued with OaSense, and we are still on track to complete our first batch of units later this summer. Some highlights:

  • We’ve received a shipment of our custom swivel balls (we no longer will use the ugly brass couplers – see picture below).
  • Production sensor samples have passed testing and our large order for final units is being packed right now.  We’re expecting that shipment to arrive in about a month.
  • We have just finished DFM (design for manufacturing) work on the injection molded components of OaSense, and completed high-resolution 3D prints for testing of that work (picture below shows a print of the bottom shower component after DFM work). We’ve paid for production tooling and are hoping to receive first articles within about one month for final approval.

All in all, things are looking good! Exact timing of our intended summer release is still TBD, depending on how these final steps go, but we’ll of course be sure to keep you all updated regardless. With any luck our progress will continue and we’ll soon be opening up a webstore for pre-orders.
